Wilderness Medicine, Rooted in Africa

DrK Wilderness Medics brings practical, evidence-based wilderness first aid training to the environments where it is needed most. From safari lodges and remote camps to expedition teams and healthcare professionals, our training is built around the realities of providing care when definitive medical help may be hours away.

Founded by Dr Matshediso Kgamane

DrK Wilderness Medics was founded by Dr Matshediso Kgamane, a Botswana-based medical doctor whose work spans wilderness, travel and remote medicine. Her experience combines clinical medicine with years spent working, teaching and providing medical support in remote environments across Africa. A Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine, she brings medical expertise and first-hand understanding of the realities of providing care when definitive help may be hours away.
