Are your courses BQA accredited and HRDC-approved?
DrK Wilderness Medics is registered with the Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA). Our approved Wilderness First Aid short course programs are recognized by the Human Resource Development Council (HRDC). Eligible employers in Botswana may qualify for training cost reimbursement.
Do you provide training outside Botswana?
Yes. DrK Wilderness Medics provides wilderness training across Southern Africa and travels to lodges, camps and remote operations for on-site training.

What makes wilderness first aid different from regular first aid?
Wilderness First Aid prepares you to manage illness and injury when professional medical help may be hours away. Training focusses on assessment, recognition, decision-making, prolonged patient care, improvisation and evacuation planning in remote environments.
Where are the training sessions held?
We bring the training to you. Courses are delivered in your environment, be it a lodge, a camp, or wherever you might be faced with an emergency. We want you to practise where it can happen.
Do you offer customized training?
Yes, we can tailor the training to your environment, team and specific operational risks, from short focused workshops to Wilderness First Aid, Advanced Wilderness First Aid, Wilderness First Responder, Basic Wilderness Life Support and Advanced Wilderness Life Support for healthcare providers.
